Thank you to our many friends, clients and business associates who helped to make this trip possible. The Indiana and Maine teams worked Monday through Friday and built a small medical clinic in Santa Clara la Laguna. This facility is for expectant mothers and their children up to age five years old. There are two delivery/exam rooms and a waiting area. Doctors from Guatemala City will be at the clinic several times a month to provide medical assistance.

Shelly Nelson, a National Vice-President of Arbonne International, sent a request to her Arbonne team and they blessed us with many boxes of children's chewable vitamins for the clinic. We appreciate their generosity.

We also distributed approximately 150 pairs shoes and sandals at the school adjacent to the clinic in Santa Clara and 300-400 pairs at a church in the remote village of Panabar. The wonderful team from Maine led by Pastor Dan helped us with the shoe distribution in Panabar.
Each afternoon when school was dismissed (and several times beforehand) we played games, sang songs, shared our lunches, taught Bible verses and made crafts with the children at the school.

We presented the school director with a large play parachute, frisbees, school supplies, etc. They were very appreciative and the next day gave each of us a hand-woven basket.

Our next trip will be in July 2009. If you are interested, please leave a comment and let us know!
